We love the design of Zenith’s Defy Skyline watches – introduced last year – with its stylistic reference to its predecessor from the late 60s. However, with a case diameter of 41mm, this model could wear rather big on many wrists. Luckily, Zenith introduced this model recently in more modest proportions that will perfectly fit most wrists. In its new 36mm jacket, it comes in four dial colour options, blue (same as on the bigger model), metallic ice blue and pastel shades of green and metallic pink.
Another difference between these two sizes lies inside. The 36mm models are not powered by the high-frequency El Primero offshoot; instead, they run on the brand’s Elite 670 automatic calibre (with 50 hours power reserve), which allows this size to be way thinner than the bigger 41mm model.
Apart from that, it’s equipped with a strap-change mechanism allowing a quick swap between a bracelet and a rubber strap in the same colour as its dial, which we find pretty cool. And just look at its octagonal case and the dial with an engraved grid of aligned stars – it speaks for itself.
