Week 27.
What’s been happening this past week? These are some of the things we found interesting in the past few days…
Off-White™ takes over Casa Jondal

We guess it was only a matter of time before Off-White realised the marketing potential of doing something in Ibiza, otherwise known as The White Isle. Despite the Spanish island being usually known for a more boho style than the brand’s more urban image, Off-White has taken over the luxury resort of Cala Jondal for two months. Redesigning everything from sun-beds and towels to pillows and baskets, the brand has transformed the beach into the perfect backdrop to wear a tie-in capsule collection of espadrilles, tote bags and swimwear. Expect to see this heavily Instagrammed throughout July and August.
Lego’s 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Set

There’s something very satisfying that in this world of Xbox and Candy Crush, the most popular toy in the world is Lego – the low-tech building block system invented in 1932. Branching out into a more adult audience, the brand’s Icon series has included intricate models of everything from the Colosseum to the space shuttle Discovery. The latest to reach the toy store shelf is a 1961 Corvette car, complete with tail-fins and and opening bonnet that reveals an engine. Celebrating the car’s 70th anniversary, it’s probably the nearest most of us will get to the iconic car.
Carhartt’s Planter Set

Another clothing brand taking a tentative step outdoors is workwear giant Carhartt who has picked up on the post-pandemic craze for gardening and created a series of planters in their trademark brown Hamilton canvas. Despite the perfect opportunity for your painter’s pants to match your garden, we are not 100% sure how good these will look after a rainy Danish autumn but until then, they are fun to have on your balcony.
Coachtopia

Another brand starting to push a more sustainable approach to the luxury market is the American heritage label Coach who has just launched a subsidiary called Coachtopia which revolves around circular design. Bags, accessories and even clothing are all made from recycled and responsibly sourced materials and can be returned for re-use when the owner grows tired of them. They aim for it to be genderless though the bags veer towards feminine but there are some pieces we would pick.
Tudor Pelagos FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing Edition

Tudor is killing it recently. Just think of all the novelties released earlier this year (we featured one here) and this latest release proves it again. Last week Tudor introduced two new Pelagos FXD models for Alinghi Red Bull Racing, an America’s Cup yacht racing team which teamed up with the Swiss watchmaker in 2022. It’s the first time that the brand has used a new carbon composite material for a case and we have to say that this matte black version combined with the matte blue dial looks really great. They come in a case diameter of 42mm and a chronograph of 43mm.
Zegna opens new store in CPH

Shopping opportunities for men in Copenhagen take another step forward with the opening of a city centre Ermenegildo Zegna store. Known for its understated stealth wealth luxury, Zegna’s new space offers beautiful tailoring and sportswear along with accessories and shoes, all behind a striking wooden slatted facade. The store also offers personal appointments if you need a bit of help choosing a suit.
