OK, we give up. No matter how hard we look for other stuff, the style world is ALL about collaborations at the end of the year so this week we bring you a special round-up that is ONLY about partnerships. But it’s an interesting bunch – from fashion cars to streetwear via Xmas jumpers and some very creative jeans. There’s even a surprising development from an ugly shoemaker (spoiler alert: we liked it). So put your phone on silent for five minutes and catch up on who is working with who this week…
Automobile collabs are a ‘thing’ now…

Rather unexpectedly, it seems that the next big thing in the world of collaborations is the world of fashion meeting that of automobiles (not really the most natural of bedfellows). First up is Kith x BMW, a partnership that covers both cars and clothing. Sadly, to us, the jackets and polo shirts look like the kind of thing a car dealership make their staff wear as a uniform and the one-off BMW M1 model from 1981 in a rather weird aubergine colour is as kitsch as it is Kith (more here). A little more successful is the Ford x Percival capsule collection which at least has a touch of retro style though the vibe is still very much garage forecourt (more here). Much classier is the Aimé Leon Dore x Porsche project with a beautiful version of the 90s 993 Turbo in a delicious shade of mulberry green with tan leather and sheepskin interior (more here). Oh, and did we mention that Balenciaga will release their collab collection with Lamborghini next winter 2025? Maybe it’s too late? But let’s just leave it here.
Diesel x Lee Hybrid Jeans

It was heartwarming this week to see a collaboration that works towards reducing deadstock and at the same time is actually very creative and cool. Diesel and Lee have put aside their rivalry and joined forces to create two styles of unisex jeans made entirely from an unsold stock of stone-washed garments – the front being from one brand and the back from another. With deliberately mismatched waistbands and raw edges, they have a Franken-jean, avant-garde aesthetic that celebrates the history of both pieces. Let’s hope they continue this concept and push it even further.
Anti Social Social Club x Coca-Cola

Stuck for something to wear for the office Xmas party and want to be (marginally) cooler than wear a Christmas jumper? Then look no further than your favourite LA-based kings of collab, Anti-Social Social Club who have teamed up with Coca-Cola to bring you a range of VERY cheesy hoodies, sweats and t-shirts featuring fizzy-drink-glugging bears, Santa and a lot of logos. We kinda don’t like stuff that is meant for wearing for ten minutes a year so this misses the mark for us but we have to admit the pyjamas might be fun to wear on Christmas morning.
Supreme x Dickies

It’s quite an astonishing feat that Supreme are still…er… ruling supreme after thirty years of making kids queue around the block for their latest collabs. This week sees them team up again with workwear brand Dickies to create a capsule collection that actually looks like the sort of thing they did at the very beginning of their brand. Leather hooded jackets, baggy dungarees and cargo pants in black, blue or a very nice pale pink – all double-logoed – have a definite downtown vibe and will no doubt still keep the tills ringing.
Uggs x Palace

We made an unofficial pact a while back that we would never EVER mention UGGs in this column as they make some of the world’s ugliest footwear (the clue is in the name…) but here we find ourselves talking about a new collab they have done with skater brand Palace. We will of course totally ignore the hideous clogs and boots but instead focus on the foray into clothing which results in a really rather nice sheepskin jacket with tiger and dragon embroidery. And to top it all come a yin and yang bucket hat and tote bag – also in sheepskin – that we actually love. Wonders will never cease…
