We’ve been busy in the past few days with Copenhagen Fashion Week but that hasn’t stopped us from keeping a beady eye on what’s happening out there in the rest of the world. From soaring success at Loewe and Pharrell recycling old designs to a couple of releases that have a gentler, more rustic vibe, these are a few of the things that caught our attention recently.
Loewe

Many people still struggle with how to pronounce it but Spanish label Loewe is going from strength to strength: fuelled by countless appearances on the red carpet, the brand has just been crowned the hottest in the world according to the Lyst Index. Under the direction of super-creative Jonathan Anderson, Loewe has risen meteorically over the past few years, partly due to great designs but also because of advertising campaigns that have gone viral with the likes of Maggie Smith and Daniel Craig making surprise appearances. The recent sexy Drink Your Milk charity t-shirt imagery also helped push up visibility no doubt.
Our Legacy Workshop Natura

Swedish brand Our Legacy have always been renowned for using great fabrics but their recent capsule collection Natura signals a back-to-basics approach by using entirely natural dyes. Using only plants and minerals, specialist dye houses in Japan, Italy and Portugal created soft, neutral shades of stone, salmon pink, pale green and soft grey. The result is relaxed, sophisticated and very desirable: we particularly love the lightweight db jacket and the baggy cargo pants.
Louis Vuitton Millionaire Sunglasses

Twenty years ago, long before he took over the mantle of Louis Vuitton Mens Design Director, Pharrell collaborated with the then head honcho Marc Jacobs to create a series of sunglasses, flashily named Millionaires. Very much a product of the time, they were bold, blingy and brash but clearly Pharrell thinks we could do with a bit of that swagger now as the label has now reintroduced the line to adorn the faces of a whole new generation of rappers. Available in two styles, these are NOT for the faint-hearted or the discrete – they are the very opposite of stealth wealth – but no doubt will find a market with a legion of fans rather than fashionistas.
1664 x André Saraiva

A fun pastime in the noughties was to spot graffiti artist André Saraiva’s Mr A character – a smiley face with a wink and a top hat – that appeared literally all over the world. At the same time, Saraiva became a big part of the nightlife and fashion scene in Europe with close associations with Purple Magazine and Hotel Amour to name but a few. Fast forward to today and he is joining forces with 1664 Beer to customise bottles and packaging with his unique style in a limited-edition collab. Launched during Copenhagen Fashion Week with a dinner (attended by the artist and The Editors amongst others), the bottles with the ‘spray on’ signature are likely to be collectable long after the beer has been drunk.
NN.07 x Slop magazine

Fashion and food aren’t always the most obvious bedfellows – the fashion crowd are notoriously small eaters – but NN.07 aim to change that by collaborating for the second time with Slop magazine. Slop is a publication that looks at the world of fresh produce, foraging and unprocessed food and to celebrate the launch of its City Issue, it joined up with NN.07 to create a new version of the latter’s Ollie jacket. Available in dark brown, the casual jacket has strawberries embroidered as if coming out of the patch pocket. It’s very cute indeed and the perfect thing to wear as you wander through woods picking wild fruit and veg (or just sit at a cafe after getting professionals to do the job).
