Longines Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of one of the Swatch watchmaker’s collections, Longines is bringing back their iconic model – the Conquest Heritage. This watch is a reincarnation of the Conquest Central Power Reserve – a vintage timepiece that dates back to the 1950s and is known among other things for its unique display showing the watch’s power reserve (a nice way to know for how long your watch stays ticking in case you leave it laying on the bedside table). The new model comes with a case diameter of 38mm and its automatic movement beats up to 72 hours. In addition, it’s also offered in other colourways and is available in an anthracite grey dial with rose gold coloured appliqués (a “fancy” word for raised numbers or batons attached to the dial), as well as a black edition with silver-tone dial embellishments. You can get this watch for an affordable price of 3.5k EUR.
Piaget Polo 79
On the occasion of Piaget’s 150th anniversary, the Swiss luxury watchmaker brought back almost an identical recreation of the glamorous and sporty gold watch of the ‘80s. While the brand came with a new take on the Polo model in 2016, this one follows the original signature design and aesthetics across the case, bracelet, and dial: polished gold gadroons (yet another fancy word – it’s those horizontal lines). Fully armoured in 18k yellow gold, weighing only 200 grams, this watch hides in the 38mm case a mechanical ultra-thin (2.35mm to be precise) movement which you can observe through its open case-back and combines two important contributions to watchmaking – elegancy and ultra-thin profile (a thickness of only 7.45mm). It’s a damn eye-catching watch. We only wish we had 64k EUR to spend and be one of the 79 lucky ones, due to its limited number.
Breitling Chronomat Automatic 36 Victoria Beckham
Usually, you would see a celebrity become a watch brand ambassador and that’s what we thought the first time we saw a connection between Victoria Beckham and Breitling. However, this is a partnership between Breitling and her ready-to-wear brand, not Victoria herself. Co-designed by Victoria with a few tweaks here and there of the brand’s established Chronomat, now put on a rouleaux bullet bracelet, these models come in colourways inspired by Beckham’s own Spring/Summer 2024 palette, including peppermint, midnight blue, dove grey, and sand. The collection includes six variations and comes in stainless steel or yellow gold. Even though it’s primarily targeted at women, with a case diameter of 36mm, you can be sure that it fits on most wrists. So maybe you would like to be the one to get one of the limited 1500 pieces?
Zenith Defy Skyline High-frequency Tourbillon
We have already featured the Swiss watchmaker’s model, the Defy Skyline here a few times. The reason is obvious – it’s a sports watch and we love it. A couple of days ago, Zenith unveiled a new Defy Skyline model that includes a high-frequency tourbillon (a whirlwind, a mechanical device, a small cage that houses the balance wheel and escapement and rotates on its axis). The new model comes in a robust case of 41mm with a dial still using four-pointed stars, which now radiate from the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, growing in size as they reach the dial’s perimeter. Thanks to the Zenith’s great high-frequency movements, it has a 60-hour power reserve. You can choose between a stainless steel version or black ceramic, both with a second strap in blue or black rubber with a folding clasp and it comes with a price tag of 60k or 70k EUR.
G-Shock MRGB5000
We will probably repeat ourselves here, but G-Shock is such a badass watch. It’s a fun alternative to your watch collection. This time G-Shock brings a modern twist to the brand’s classic 1983 model and is made of Cobarion alloy, a special metal made to endure daily wear and tear without being scratched. The front case, rather than a typical single-piece design, is made of 25 individual pieces and forms a very well-known brand’s octagonal shape. For nighttime use, the interface activates a backlight for greater readability. On top of that, the watch also includes radio control and Bluetooth connectivity. With a price tag of 2,8k EUR, you don’t need to worry that you’ll wear out this watch.
