On our shelves

Robin’s favourite fragrances

When it comes to scents, I am very selective. For me, they are tied to memories and moments… There have been times I wore a fragrance only to put it right back on the shelf immediately, because it would remind me too strongly of a particular moment.

While some people change their scent as per occasion or seasons, I choose mine based on mood and how I feel that day. Part of my collection leans towards fresh, lighter and more intimate scents: those that don’t scream, but instead feel close and personal, never overpowering.

Working in this field, we get to test a lot of fragrances. While I always keep my all-time favourites on hand, I also regularly add new discoveries to my rotation, scents that feel right in the moment and capture the current mood.

Essential Parfums – Nice Bergamote by Antoine Maisondieu

A very intimate bergamot fragrance I discovered recently. It opens with a sharp, juicy burst of citrus that instantly wakes the senses, and soon delicate threads of jasmine and ylang‑ylang start weaving in, softening the brightness. Beneath that airy, luminous clarity, subtle hints of cedar and tonka emerge, adding warmth and depth. A go-to option when I want something refreshing and when I need to feel effortlessly present wherever I am headed to. Available here.

Matiere Premiere – Neroli Oranger

One of my favourite scents for years now. It’s bright and sparkling, with a burst of neroli and bergamot. Later, orange blossom and neroli weave together more softly, balancing freshness with a gentle warmth that truly smells like walking through a grove of orange blossoms under the sun. Subtle musky and woody notes give it a quiet depth, but it always stays vibrant and uplifting. I like to wear it whenever the sun is out, no matter the season, and it always takes me back to my summer vacation travels. Available here.

Etat Libre d’Orange – You or Someone Like You

It took me some time to appreciate this scent. I remember the first time I smelled it… I liked it, but it didn’t feel like me. Only later did I realise that, actually, it is. After a few wears, it became one of my current favourites. Right away, it’s crisp, green, and bright, a minty‑green, fresh floral that instantly feels cool and refreshing. Later, the herbal notes soften, while musk and a delicate touch of rose give it quiet depth. So the next time you catch it in the air, you know… it was me, or someone like me. Available here.

Jo Malone – Lime Basil & Mandarin

A mix of zesty lime and mandarin with a subtle hint of basil, this scent feels clean and refreshing, not overpowering yet still noticeable. The citrus is bright and sparkling, lifted by the gentle herbal depth of basil that keeps the freshness grounded and interesting. A soft, peppery warmth comes through the mix, adding subtle complexity without taking away its airy feel. Crisp, airy, and effortlessly elegant, a scent for me that feels as easy in winter as it does in summer. Available here.

Tom Ford – Eau de Soleil Blanc / Soleil Blanc

A surprisingly addictive, floral, bright and warm scent. First, jasmine and light citrus blend together, fresh and radiant, while later, coconut, amber, and tonka emerge, adding warmth and a soft, sun-kissed touch. There’s a delicate sweetness that balances the brightness, with a subtle creaminess that keeps it feeling rich but not heavy. It’s light and airy with sophisticated warmth that feels both playful and effortlessly elegant. It brings me back to summer trips, sunny beaches, and the feeling of strong sun on the skin, which is perfect for gloomy days. Available here.
