Of course, we are going to miss the warm weather of summer, but it is nice to be able to go back to our knitwear drawer and have a change from short-sleeved shirts and tees for a while. And when it comes to shopping for new ones, as most knits are pretty unisex, you have double the opportunities too.

Style them with a pair of chinos, jeans, under a blazer or even a suit: there are so many options. It’s the beauty of layering! And look at them as a piece you could keep in your wardrobe not just for one season, but bring back year after year.
To celebrate the return of jumpers, we picked a few possibilities to add to your collection. They are easy to style and have great details or an interesting texture.

Bonsai
Don’t think you have to just stick with lambswool and cashmere – there are some great novelty yarns out there. We love the texture of this chenille sweater in soft grey and are sure it feels as good as it looks.
MM6 Maison Margiela
Maison Margiela knocks it out of the park season after season with their knits, usually perfectly balancing avant-garde design with wearability. This textured crewneck has a partly unpicked collar band to add an unexpected detail. The fit is on point too.
NN.07
Cotton knits can often be very flat and drab (try to avoid plain colours) but the slub in this gives the yarn some depth with its ‘salt and pepper’ look. It’s great for early autumn before you start needing more warmth.
Polo Ralph Lauren
It’s an absolute classic but you can’t do much better than a Ralph Lauren cashmere knit. Wear it with jeans or track pants for a great quiet luxury vibe and consider buying it seriously oversized.
Zadig & Voltaire
There is something particularly luxurious about getting a knit in off-white (they can be a spill-magnet and a bitch to clean when it happens) but the dropped stitches on this one undermine the poshness.
Fiorucci
Knits are a great way to add colour to your wardrobe as the yarns give texture and depth. We love this tweedy pink sweater with dropped shoulders and no rib at the hem.
Sunnei
If you are going for texture, you might as well really go for it and opt for something like this. We’re not totally sure about the 100% polyamide composition but Sunnei know what they are doing and so we will trust them. It sure looks great though!
And how Graham styled some of them? Have a look…
