Macarons have long been a favorite of the fashion set: after all, they taste lovely, are usually in very pretty colours and, best of all, are tiny and therefore pretty low in calories compared to a hefty slice of gateau. But the latest food collab takes these dainty treats out of Parisian salons and fancy patisseries and into your local supermarket.

The legendary Picasso of Pastry, Pierre Hermé himself, has teamed up with all-American ice cream giants Häagen-Dazs to create a small range of macaron-infused frozen delights. A little more esoteric than your run-of-the-mill Cookies and Cream, the flavours include double-chocolate ganache and yuzu with lemon, all with a subtle hint of almond-y macaron. The accompanying ad campaign is straight out of Emily in Paris cliché territory (though using lovely colours) but the ice cream itself might just get our spoons out this summer.
