A Night at the Museum
Australian fragrance brand Goldfield & Banks specialises in using native antipodean ingredients for their perfumes, and their latest release, Tales of Amber, brings together rare ambergris from New Zealand with orange blossom, iris and agar wood, creating something warm, powdery and very sensual.
To celebrate the launch, they invited The Editors to join them in a spectacular dinner in the beautiful Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris, where a hundred guests learned about the perfume whilst sipping champagne and eating fabulous food surrounded by stuffed animals and vitrines of corals, butterflies and exotic insects.

Tales of Amber – Goldfield & Banks
As most fragrance lovers are aware, the perfume industry is very much centred around Grasse in France, but Goldfield & Banks, based as they are in Australia, do things a bit differently and use ingredients native to their homeland. Their latest release, Tales of Amber, leans heavily into the antipodean desert landscape with ambergris (both real and in the form of amber extrait), labdanum, agar wood and orange blossom. It’s quite a heady mix, but in a sensual, warm way rather than overpowering. There is also a mineral aspect which makes it feel very contemporary and on trend.
