Copenhagen Guide
Bakeries.
Danes love their bread and it shows. There are bakeries everywhere and people become very loyal and supportive of their local favourites. But it goes beyond great rugbrød and bøller: there are so many other things you might want to choose – from cardamom rolls and cinnamon ‘snegls’ to freshly made sandwiches and seasonal offerings that celebrate particular festivals or times of the year. And of course, there is usually great coffee too. Just expect to stand in a line for that daily loaf and don’t expect any of it to be cheap (this is Copenhagen remember and NOTHING is cheap!)

Should you be unlucky enough to require gluten-free options, most bakeries have a small offering but we can recommend H.U.G. Bageri who are great for this.
Other places worth mentioning are Skipper bageri, Buka CPH, Københavns Bageri and Rug bakery but to be honest, you will get great pastries pretty much everywhere so check out our coffee section here too.
