We at The Editors love cheese. And we love wine. Throw in some good bread and we are happy guys. So there was no way we could turn down the chance to be talked through some of the finest examples of all the above in a very special setting in a 17th century cellar below a famous Fromagerie by the gorgeous Marché des Enfants Rouge in Paris.
A small group of eight turophiles (that’s a cheese fiend to you and I) spend two hours tasting eight different hand made varieties from some of the best artisanal makers in the country, accompanied by four different wines, all served with locally sourced bread, strawberries, grapes and, to finish with, a couple of sweet things. The host, André, is charming, knowledgeable and entertaining and it’s genuinely a fascinating as well as calorific experience. Just don’t plan a big dinner afterwards…
