Back in the late Noughties, German/Turkish Umit Benan was quite the thing in menswear. Known for his humorous and creative shows as much as his understated but beautiful collections, he built an eponymous brand that got rave reviews. But following a rather turbulent tenure at Trussardi, he suffered a bit of a crisis and took a back seat in his own company causing it to drop off the radar somewhat. But now, thankfully, he is back with a collection he calls B+ Umit Benan. Using the very best Italian fabrics, he aims to create clothes that are wearable, luxurious and effortless and from our point of view, he hits the nail on the head. His selection of slouchy knits, loose fit pants and beautiful coats, all using his signature sophisticated sense of colour and, in the look book, modelled on age appropriate models (THANK YOU!), form the basis of a wardrobe you would keep for years. This B+ is definitely an A+
