With a name that straddles both France and Japan and a design studio based in Denmark, you might expect a somewhat muddled visual language from Copenhagen-based Rue de Tokyo, but nothing is further from the truth.

We have been big fans of the brand and its charming founder, David, for many years now, happily buying into their low-key, sophisticated take on menswear. Shapes are easy and details kept to a minimum, but the fabrications are what make the clothes really special, with everything from drill and wool with a beautiful handle to heavily embellished and embroidered materials.

They also have a keen eye for a good collab: the Moomin series of jackets and t-shirts was a particular favourite this past summer. Rue de Tokyo are definitely on the right road.
