The cool Scandinavian style that Filippa K so successfully embodies is now so prevalent in our wardrobes that it’s hard to imagine how ground-breaking it felt when the brand was first launched over thirty years ago. But back then, when a lot of fashion was over-designed and showy, the clothes were like a breath of fresh air with their neutral colours, wearable shapes and unpretentious attitude. And there was an attention to detail in fabrication and make that was elevated, making Filippa K a forerunner of understated luxury (but without the ludicrous price tags that genre now generates.)
