You really can’t get much more Nordic than Arket. From the understated interiors of the stores and the pared-back minimalism of most of the offerings to the emphasis on form and function, the brand just oozes Scandinavian style.
But on a practical rather than conceptual front, the end result is wearable, well-made basics that work over seasons and can be combined with bolder or more seasonal pieces: in other words, they provide the frame for your wardrobe.
So Arket has become our go-to for t-shirts, classic overcoats, socks, cosy knits and super useful pants. The transparency of their manufacturing too should be applauded (you can easily find the exact factory used for each piece and they major on responsibly produced fabrics). Final note: the in-store cafés do great vegetarian food and you can often find us having pre-flight breakfast at the branch at Copenhagen Airport.
